Our Mission


At Bumble & Bloom, we believe that small gardens can spark big change. Rooted in the heart of Dayton, Ohio, our mission is to cultivate vibrant spaces that support bees, butterflies, and all pollinators essential to a healthy planet. We are dedicated to restoring native habitats, educating our community, and inspiring a deeper connection to the natural world — one flower, one garden, one bloom at a time.

How Pollination Works

Pollination is how plants make seeds to grow new plants.
It happens when pollen (a powdery substance made by flowers) moves from one part of a flower (called the stamen) to another part (called the pistil). The pistil is where seeds begin to form.

Pollinators like bees, butterflies, and even the wind help move the pollen. When a bee visits a flower to get nectar (sweet food), some pollen sticks to its body. When the bee flies to the next flower, the pollen rubs off, helping that flower start growing seeds.

Without pollination, we wouldn’t have many fruits, vegetables, or beautiful flowers!

Saving Honeybees Since 2024

Honeybees are vital to life as we know it.

They pollinate about one-third of the food we eat, including fruits, vegetables, and nuts. Without honeybees, many of the crops we rely on would struggle to grow, leading to less food and higher prices.

Unfortunately, honeybee populations are declining around the world. This is mainly due to habitat loss, pesticide use, climate change, diseases, and pests like the Varroa mite. If honeybees disappear, it would have serious impacts on ecosystems, agriculture, and food supply for both people and wildlife. Protecting and supporting honeybees is crucial for a healthy, balanced planet.
